What procedures are required for maintenance in Macau?
Yacht entry approval, berthing and immigration arrangements for everyone on board must be prepared in advance. Voy checks the vessel documents, project requirements and passage arrangements, and helps assemble the required information. Items requiring a declaration are handled under the applicable rules.View Macau’s official yacht entry application Voy and the shipyard also confirm any permits required for the agreed work; port-entry approval and repair permits are separate arrangements.
Which vessel documents are needed?
An entry application for a yacht registered outside Macau includes an application form and valid vessel navigation documents. Where applicable, it also requires liability insurance from an insurer approved to operate in Macau and evidence of a berth. Voy checks the requirements against the vessel’s registration and planned arrangements.
How long is the passage from Hong Kong to Macau?
The passage is planned from the yacht’s Hong Kong berth to its receiving location in Macau, using an appropriate route. Speed, restricted waters, vessel condition and weather all affect the timing. Voy prepares a suitable passage plan rather than quoting one journey time for every yacht.
Is the Macau shipyard suitable for my yacht?
Suitability depends on length, beam, weight, draught, equipment and the proposed work. The floating dock measures 48 metres long and 15 metres wide; these dimensions do not indicate the maximum vessel size or lifting capacity.
How should I compare Hong Kong and Macau quotations?
Compare the same work, materials and handover requirements, including the return passage, docking, berthing and documentation arrangements. Macau’s competitive project costs are particularly worth assessing when several jobs are combined. The complete quotation provides the basis for the decision.
Does an initial inspection commit me to any work?
You decide after reviewing the yacht’s condition, recommended work and quotation. Dismantling, specialist testing or other additional services are agreed in scope and price beforehand.
How are warranties and additional work handled?
The quotation and project documents set out the warranty period, coverage and exclusions. If additional work is identified, the issue, recommended process and cost are explained and approved by the owner before it proceeds.
